Max Coburn gets himself out of
one mess and right back into another. In order to pay their court fines, his
friends plan a challenging demolition derby. They find inspiration through the
crisis of a friend on life support system. Tension, intrigue and unexpected
excitement change the course of friendships in Summer Fireworks.
"What difference does it make what he calls me? It's still an
insult." Jack smiled weakly. "When someone insults you Neddie, it's a
way to control you. Don't listen to them - learn from them." "What do
you mean by that?" "Reverse it." Jack's voice was so quiet it
was almost inaudible. "If someone says you're dumb, it's because they know
you're smart. They don't want you to know it, so they tell you the opposite,
Hoping you'll believe it, to control you. Don't listen, Ned - reverse it."
He yawned. "They're trying to stunt your emotional growth. Its being a
bully without using fists." Neddie studied the outline of the hospital
window, finally understanding the true meaning of being a bully. He turned
around to say something but Jack had already dozed off.

When the teenagers from Beedy
go back to school in the fall, they have to deal with drugs and peer pressure.
Max and Benny's friendship is challenged when Ivy Croft gets impatient because
the band still isn't ready to go to the recording studio. Will Benny ever get
the foot pedal? Reece McNaughton's secret is revealed when Max makes an
unexpected visit to his house.
Turning back, Max heard a muffled laugh. Straining to see where the noise came
from, he saw the dim outline of a body beside the dented cans. He squinted in
the dark. "Patterson, is that you?" A groan sounded and when Benny
rolled over on his side, Max stood over him and reached his hand out.
"Come on - get up." "Get outta my way, Max, and quit bugging
me." "What's the matter with you, Patterson?" "Get lost,
Coburn!" Benny's arms swung out, and he rammed his fist into Max's face.
Max staggered back losing his balance. "What did you get into,
anyway?" "Where do you get off being so self righteous, Max?"
When he didn't answer, Benny swung out to punch him again but Max grabbed his
jacket and shoved him aside. "What's the matter, Max? Scared of me? Benny
lunged forward.

Building
Friendships
If you want to find out who your friends are, look for their reaction when
you're down and out.
One will ignore you and not get involved.
That's fine
One will belittle you to others and talk about your weakness.
That's common
But the one who helps you get back up. They've helped build your character.
That's a friend.
If you forgive the others
That's an even better friend
Maybe we could try it as a Nation -

Friends from Beedy share the
same interests and goals, but they all have different opinions on how to get
the best results. Now, having to deal with the challenge of their lead
guitarist backing out of The Outta Towners Concert, each member of the
band works together to challenge Max Coburn right back into it.
And
while the musicians in the band are recording their music in small Beedy
Village in Canada, their Internet friends from around the world let them know
whats going on in their lives with landmines going off every twenty
minutes all over their small villages.
