have finished high school.
At age twenty-five, the group of friends are now a world-renowned band and have
to deal with all the things that come with being famous. In each of the seven
novels they are often challenged to stay true to their roots. Now wealthy and
influential it involves adult social pressures they never expected and
irresistible encounters with strangers.
With constantly meeting people in all occupations from around the globe plus
seeing new faces on their world tour the band members each have individual
dealings with grief, humour, romance, glitz and glamour,
unusual temptations, traveling to remote places, friendships,
emotional rehabilitation, concerts in unfriendly countries,
war,
expectations from decision-making, remembering past childhood experiences
loss of a dream, searching for the right life partner,
a lime-light fashion show with a world renowned designer,
and
facing truths and terrifying situations with no defence.

The topics I chose for this series
make the books eligible to be read at any age;
they are timeless, and as a result,
the next generation readers
will be dealing with the same concerns
as we did in the past;
family, looking after our earth, friends, healing,
on-going challenges and
facing adversity. |
Originally this series was to end at book five but teenagers
grow up educated and they grow up fast. Young people today clearly understand
what is going on in the world around them and when many let me know they wanted
to help with the world crisis it captured my attention. Being global due to
daily newspapers and TV broadcasts with constant concerns about environmental
issues, future wars and global warming I continued the series with seven more
books.
Consequently
While writing the final story, Season of Challenge, Band Together continues
with content that relates to how the world really is and how it could be in
these ever-changing times. In creating every-day characters who deal with the
most talked about challenges of life they eventually face things straight in
the eye! While some friends get involved in different situations during the
world tour, Max Coburn's band Drums Lead holds a special outdoor concert
playing every kind of music from rock to rhythm, blues, country, hip-hop, jazz
and rap. A few singers even surprise Maxs band as they show up on stage
with their guitars, banjos and harmonicas to join in.
A stirring global conclusion ends the series in book 12 when
Drums Lead For World Peace
